General information

It has taken over 30 years to build Straightway Construction, Inc into the growing company it is today. Our founder, Alvie Jarratt, Jr., didn’t inherit an existing company. He built it from the ground up with years of experience working for others, as well as on his own. Straightway Construction was founded in 1994 and acts as the general contractor for many of the projects we are asked to build. Sometimes we work under national construction management companies, but the result is always the same. You get our very best work.

Alvie comes from a long family line of loggers, woodworkers, and carpenters. You might say hard work is in Alvie’s blood. For Alvie, his passion for construction started with a roofing job during high school. Paying attention to other trades on job sites, Alvie admired the work of carpenters and knew that was what he wanted to do in life. When the opportunity arose, Alvie answered a newspaper ad for a carpenter helper and learned both the residential and commercial construction industry. The next natural step was starting his own business in 1994. Being a new company, Alvie started doing odd jobs along with residential remodels. As his company grew, Straightway Construction began specializing in commercial construction.

To get Straightway Construction off to a strong start, Alvie began winning contracts across the state of North Dakota, taking on commercial construction jobs that other companies didn’t want. Early on construction projects for the Port of Entry along the border of U.S.A and Canada helped build the company and proved that Straightway Construction will get the job done, and done right. Now, with a sizable portfolio of larger commercial projects finished by Straightway Construction, you might wonder what separates us from the competition.
