The Charlton School

General information

The Charlton School is a private, non-sectarian, not-for-profit child care agency licensed by the State of New York, Office of Children and Family Services, to provide residential care and special education services to emotionally troubled students ages 13 to 17 (at the time of admission). The students admitted come from the central New York area and are in need of an intense therapeutic group living experience.

Students are accepted into The Charlton School based on a review of relevant information and interviews. A final decision to accept is based on a full review of the information and, when appropriate, an interview and on Charlton’s determination that we have the ability to help the student and her family. All referred individuals are considered without regard to race, religion, color or national origin.

The overall administration of the program is the responsibility of the Executive Director who is responsible to the Board of Trustees. Services of this agency will be provided by Social Work and Youth Care staff complimented by other professional staff.
