When confronted with the vast void in measuring individual animal growth or cost effective bin monitoring, Herdstar® built a solution. Our GFPRO software, the first of its kind, provides full Production Quality Assurance (PQA) level III compliance as developed by the National Pork Producer’s Association for drug safety.
Five years ago there was no commercial platform that would measure the individual animal growth rate and behavior in order for the pig producer to effectively deliver a more uniform animal to the meat packer. Herdstar® solved this by introducing the first web-enabled animal sorter to not only sort pigs by individual weight, but also track individual growth rates in a commercial production environment via the internet. In addition, Herdstar® introduced BinTrac™, an affordable solution to track bin level measurements, allowing feed to be ordered remotely or managed by your local feedmill, ensuring fresh, prompt and accurate delivery of feed to the correct bin without any labor intervention from the producer.

To accomplish this, Herdstar® merged recently with Novonix and expanded its core team by adding nearly 100 years of expertise in the design of embedded electronic controls for agricultural and livestock systems. Herdstar also entered into a partnership with several sorter manufacturers to introduce a quality and cost effective livestock scale for automatic volunteer sorting.
