Balkema Excavating is a family-owned and operated company that was founded in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1911. We specialize in water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, directional drilling, pump station construction, dewatering and jack & bore construction. We are experienced in landfill development, site clearing, site development, road building, drainage improvement, and grading.

Balkema Excavating has the expertise and resources needed to get the job done. We have a number of long-term employees with a wealth of experience to handle any project. We maintain one of the largest fleets of heavy equipment and support staff in the area, so we will always have the necessary tools at the ready.

Balkema Excavating is affiliated with Aggregate Resources, Inc., West Plains Mining, LLC. and Best Way Disposal, Inc., and can partner with them to conveniently provide additional services and products you may need on your project.
